SUN LIGHT FROM SPACE BY REFLECTION

Carbon dioxide emissions in to the atmosphere is a major problem for the world and maximum emissions come from two sectors - Power Generation and Transport. Major portion of power generated world wide is used for lighting of household, public places, high ways etc.
If lighting can be taken care of by reflecting Sun light from space towards the dark sides of the earth, the demand for electricity will reduce drastically and in turn this will bring down the need to set up more Power Plants based on fossil fuels which will in turn reduce Carbon dioxide emissions.
Though the first experiment Znamya-2, conducted on Mir space station using flat metal zed gossamer sheet disc on 4th Feb, 1993 established that Sun light indeed can be reflected towards dark sides of the earth but failure of two subsequent experiments retarded the process of obtaining clean Sun light from the Space as the experiments by both Russia and America were suspended.
A proper and systematic way to practically harness the Sunlight, 24 hours of the day through an article has been submitted to a space journal.
With this invention 70% of electricity being generated on this planet at present for lighting will be saved and present production will be utilized for heating, cooling and for industrial purposes only.

NASA is serious about making space elevator a reality. With the technology suggested by him, it is possible not only to make Space Elevator a reality with existing materials but multi level constructions or space colonies till moon and beyond a reality. |
